Dr. Scholl’s Steps Up for the Troops!

During December 2017 Dr. Scholl’s offered shoppers in every Walmart across America the opportunity to purchase a pair of insoles with Dr. Scholl’s donating a pair of insoles to Support Our Troops^® to provide to soldiers deployed overseas. SOT will have a final count in January, but we can tell you this right now – – the soldiers say their feet can’t wait to get these in their boots! Dr. Scholl’s also branded the packaging, displays and ads with the SOT logo to promote public support for America’s service members. Is this a great country or what?

Antiterrorism Unit Gets 6 Pallets of Christmas Surprise From SOT®

OCONUS Location & Units Undisclosed, December 25, 2017 - I'd like to thank you for the very generous gift to [-----]. The 6 pallets of care packages were received and distributed during the Holidays. All but one of the pallets were distributed to the Active Duty population. Instead of just dropping the boxes off at the commands (with the exception of two Marine platoons), MWR program managers got together for a little teambuilding event to pack all the goodies into smaller MWR bags. MWR then worked with the [---] to get them sent out on Christmas day to those who were on duty. Each person on duty received one bag of personal items, one bag of food items, and another small box of freshly baked goodies from the [-----]. In all, over 400 personnel from all services received a nice pick-me-up while working on Christmas Day. The sixth pallet is saved for the incoming Marine platoon, due to arrive in the next couple of weeks. CMDR -----

The pallets were shipped with a 3’x10’ Thank You! banner to make sure the troops know we all know they’re there and are with them!

Christmas Eve Caroling and Care Packages to Wounded Soldiers in Walter Reed and Ft. Belvoir Hospital

Bethesda, Maryland, December 24, 2017 – On this Christmas Eve, $5,000 worth of hand crafted care packages were passed out to wounded soldiers by singing soldiers who caroled their way door to door through the hospitals, as personal and meaningful as it gets. A one on one thank you and reminder to each wounded soldier that we know they are there, we know what they have done for us, and we are with them.

How did this happen? Like most things in America this good deed was the product of a number of good Americans working together. Here, it was SupportOurTroops.Org, a group of Soldiers from APG, U.S. Army Public Health Center, S and SBN, Maryland National Guard 29th Cab, 1st ALL, who went to door to door in the hospitals singing and passing out the care packages. The VFW 8126 Auxiliary in Havre de Grace helped assemble the care packages.

Makes you proud to be an American.

Guardsmen, Family Members Load Trees for Troops

Cornwall, N.Y., November 27, 2017 - New York Air National Guardsmen and family members help load Christmas trees onto trucks to be distributed to veterans across the country at no charge. The airmen are assigned to the New York Air National Guard’s 105th Airlift Wing.  

Operation Toy Drop

Mackall Army Airfield, North Carolina, November. 30, 2017 - U.S. and Canadian army jumpmasters board a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter for the 20th Annual Randy Oler Memorial Operation Toy Drop at The event allows soldiers the opportunity to train on their military occupational specialty, maintain their airborne readiness, and give back to the local community.  

Sergeant Scrooge

Okinawa, Japan, December 9, 2017 - Marine Corps Sgt. Ryan Van Gosen interacts with the audience at the Sergeant Scrooge's Okinawa Christmas event at Camp Foster, The band performed festive Christmas songs for service members and their families for the upcoming holiday season. Van Gosen is a musician assigned to the III Marine Expeditionary Force Band. 

40th Brigade Engineer Battalion's Christmas in Camp Patriot, Kuwait

Kuwait, December 24, 2017 - On Christmas Eve, the 40 BEB Chaplain provided Christmas Singalong, “Christmas Blessing.” They sang Carol Songs with Camp Patriot Soldiers and shared care packages. The Chaplain and his Chapel praise team also visited the Barracks, US Army vessels, and had another Christmas Blessing!

Holiday Cheer Basic Water Survival Swim

CAMP PENDLETON, California, December 20, 2017 -- The Honorable Mr. Santa Claus, Commanding Officer of Holiday Cheer, NORTHPOLECOM, conducts basic swim. Basic water survival is a training requirement for Claus and all operational reindeer to pass every two years to maintain their water survival skills. The purposes of this training was to ensure the NORTHPOLECOM Logistics team was prepared for their upcoming night operations on Christmas Eve.

Battalion Holiday Run Camp Pendleton

CAMP PENDLETON, California, December 23, 2017 -- U.S. Marines and Sailors with 7th Engineer Support Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, participate in a battalion holiday run at Camp Pendleton, Calif., Dec. 22, 2017. The Marines and Sailors of 7th ESB wore festive clothing in celebration of the holiday.
