AMERICA, October 2, 2024 – The National Guard is stepping up to save their people from the death and destruction of Hurricane Helene, while awaiting outside assistance. They're supporting their people, and SOT is supporting them and their families. For a common example, one Guard member is stationed at the southern border given the problems there. Meanwhile his family has 4 feet of mud in their house and has been evacuated elsewhere. And is always the case, when they are deployed to take care of their fellow state citizens, their families encounter disruptions in their normal job paychecks which affects everything in their lives. On top of that, the economy and inflation has turned everyone's budget negative of late. Just imagine what it would be like to have your family's livelihood interrupted for a month or two while your pay scale, and frequency are reset. Eating can’t wait.
Your SOT Team is proud to inform you that as of the writing of this newsletter SOT is efforting the delivery of $10,000 monetary emergency family assistance for Tennessee Guard families, and $10,000 monetary emergency family assistance for North Carolina Guard families. The attendant rules are simple, they’re there, we're not, and therefore use is wholly within their discretion, and they can spend it on whatever they deem best for their Guard families on a moment's notice.
Tangible emergency support goods are also being picked up from SOT’s regional distribution center to support guard operations in the field. 2 pallets of energy bars yesterday for field rations, and 12 pallets of water are being picked up today or tomorrow to be trucked to Raleigh and then flown into Asheville. These goods are for the guard service members because boots on the ground need food and water to be able to function and serve and save. All hands are on deck at SOT and the SOT Team thanks their fellow Americans and America’s good corporate citizens for donating these desperately needed goods, and the money, which makes this type of critical support in these terrible situations possible. Without them we are an empty vessel. With them we are chock full of good works for our beautiful fellow Americans. Is this a great country or what!
